Ending 2020 with Focus & Self-Reflections
2020 has been a challenging year to say the least…a mixed bag of grief & hope, uncertainty & joy and hopelessness & faith.
Say 3 months from now…How will you think back on 2020? What are some things that stand out the most for you right now? Besides the pandemic, social unrest and a hair-raising election…what about you?
How will you think of your own growth or set-backs this year? What will you write in your journal, tell your grand-kids and reminisce about?
Here are some prompts if you’d like to journal or discuss at your dinner table, and please share- I’d love to hear.
Moments of Joy: what brought you joy & happiness or made you laugh?
New Favorites: what new discoveries did you find? Where did you find inspiration? (books, podcasts, movies etc)
Goals: think about the goals you set for this year and the progress you've made, pivots and restructuring you’ve made due to the pandemic.
Letting go: what weighed you down? What thoughts, habits and behaviors are you willing to leave behind?
Personally, 2020 has been a year for growth, both internally & externally. While mostly in isolation, I love that I’ve been able to connect with so many of my former, current and new clients.
Here’s part of my own reflection if you’re curious:
Moments of Joy: I celebrated my 4th Anniversary as solopreneur in September. Lesson: make your passion your purpose and be of service to others.
Letting Go: I worried that I wouldn’t stay open past the first holiday season…Now, 4 years later, my clients are in 4 continents and 7 different countries and in 15+ cities. Lesson: believe in yourself.
New Favorites: A pivotal and important part of my growth during the pandemic was an interview I did for Girl’s Gotta Eat Podcast. Listen here. It put me on a map I was unaware of. Lesson: be open to opportunities outside of your comfort zone.
Goals: I’m creating an online Academy to offer self paced courses for personal and professional transformation. Lesson: keep learning and challenging yourself.
Those are actual examples from one of my many journals. Writing and reflecting helped me realize that no matter how hard things may seem, I’m stronger than my stress. Tough times don’t last. Tough people do.
To Powerful, Positive Change…Cheers!
