I’m here. Where are you?
This is how many sessions begin. Each session is customized to where you currently are in life. The modalities in my practice are rooted in Gestalt, NLP, Mindfulness & Awareness Training. An invitation to be present, to feel your feelings and to “peel the onion” as we say in Gestalt. To dig deeper. To discover and integrate all aspect of yourself. To live a more empowered life. I believe that life is in our favor; life is happening for us and not to us; and each person has the inner resources to heal.

Together, we’ll examine deeply ingrained limited beliefs that may be holding you back. We’ll explore ways to challenge and reframe self-sabotaging, critical and judgmental beliefs and empower you to reshape your inner narrative.
Relationship Challenges and Conflict:
Whether you're navigating relationship issues or conflicts, I invite you and your partner to join the session. Together, let's develop effective communication skills that foster understanding and connection.
Co-dependency in Relationships:
Explore self-esteem and elevate self-awareness to break free from co-dependency in your relationships. Together, we'll navigate the journey towards healthier connections.
Inner Child Work:
If you're an adult child of an alcoholic or addicted parent, let's embark on a journey of re-parenting and emotional healing. Discover tools to nurture your inner child and find healing from past experiences.
Cultivating a Powerful, Positive Mindset
Embracing a growth mindset, we’ll shift your perspective to better support your personal & professional development. You’ll learn tools to notice and shift your thought patterns.
In our sessions, we roll up our sleeves, face core issues, and work towards understanding, acceptance, and healing. Feel free to bring a journal and whatever enhances your comfort—whether it's comfortable clothes, water, or any personal items that contribute to your well-being.
NOTE: Appointments are either in person at my office in Roswell, Georgia OR virtual via ZOOM or FaceTime. I promise you will get the same presence, attention and quality of care either way.
My Approach & Process
Whether it’s working with individuals, leaders or teams, I may start with this simple, yet effective 4 step process:
Identify where you are now. This is where you take “inventory” of all aspects of your life; mind, body, spirit & emotions.
Decide where you want to be. What do you want? Let’s determine your desired outcomes.
Uncover what stops you: your limiting beliefs about yourself, about others and about life. Do you want a different story?
Determine & Execute how to get there. This is where you’ll take action steps with helpful tools, a strategy and empowerment to create change. I’ll be next to you as your guide, confidant, cheerleader and accountability partner.
My tools and techniques are rooted in Gestalt, NLP, Mindfulness & Awareness Training. Some sessions are more experiential work, less talk. Other sessions we’ll use an empty chair or white board to help you visualize and gain new awareness about your patterns, blocks and mindset. In short, there is no exact formula that I use, as each person is unique with specific needs.
“Adela is very skillful in guiding people towards self-awareness and personal responsibility to make desired changes. I find Adela’s approach-a combination of strength and compassion-very helpful. I’ve gained greater personal empowerment.”
– Marta, Psychotherapist
The empty chair immersion offers a unique and powerful therapeutic experience by providing a symbolic space for you to engage with your inner world, unresolved issues, or significant relationships. You’ll have the opportunity to externalize internal conflicts, making them more tangible and accessible for exploration.
This immersive practice encourages authentic expression of emotions, thoughts, and unspoken voices, cultivating a dynamic dialogue that can lead to profound insights and emotional release. The immersion is approx. 2.5-3 hours with short breaks as needed.

Here's a brief overview of the process involved in the empty chair practice:
Introduction and Set-Up:
The concept of the empty chair is introduced and its symbolic significance explained in the therapeutic process.
Identification of the Focus:
The client identifies the specific focus or topic they want to explore using the empty chair. This could be a relationship, an emotion, a past event, or an aspect of themselves.
Engaging in Dialogue:
The client begins a dialogue with the symbolic representation in the empty chair.
Role Reversal:
To gain different perspectives, the client may physically move between their original seat and the empty chair, adopting the role of both themselves and the symbolic representation. This facilitates a deeper understanding of the dynamics at play.
Expressing Emotions:
The practice encourages the authentic expression of emotions. Clients are encouraged to articulate their feelings, whether it's anger, sadness, joy, or any other emotion associated with the chosen focus.
Exploration and Clarification:
Through the dialogue, clients explore underlying thoughts, beliefs, and motivations related to the chosen focus. The therapist may ask guiding questions to help clarify and deepen the exploration.
Resolution and Integration:
The process aims for a sense of resolution, understanding, or acceptance. Clients often gain insights into their emotions and experiences, fostering a greater sense of self-awareness and personal growth.
Reflection and Discussion:
Following the empty chair exercise, the therapist and client reflect on the experience. This may involve discussing insights gained, emotions expressed, and any shifts in perspective.
Optional Integration of Tools:
Depending on the therapeutic approach, the empty chair practice may integrate additional tools such as mindfulness, visualization, or relaxation techniques to enhance the overall therapeutic experience.
Closing and Grounding:
The session concludes with a grounding exercise or discussion to help the client integrate the insights gained and carry them forward into their daily life.
In the space we create together, you'll find reassurance, support, and safety as you explore the depths of self-empowerment. Trust in the process, and allow yourself the opportunity to thrive. Your growth begins with a single step – and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
