Building Your Consistency Muscle: One Small Step at a Time
Greetings from Adela,
Question: How do you build your consistency muscle?
Let’s talk about consistency—because if you’re anything like me, starting something new is the easy part. The real challenge? Sticking with it.
Here’s a little confession: I love new ideas and projects. That initial spark of inspiration lights me up. But when the excitement fades and the grind sets in, staying consistent has often been my Achilles’ heel.
Can you relate?
Recently, I started learning Spanish on Duolingo. It’s nothing fancy—just 10 minutes a day. At first, it felt small and almost insignificant, but as I kept showing up, something shifted.
It taught me four powerful lessons about consistency:
Progress Over Perfection
I didn’t need to master the language overnight. Each day, I celebrated learning one new word or phrase. Little wins kept me going, and I stopped worrying about getting everything right.Resilience Through Repetition
Some days, I wasn’t in the mood to practice, but I reminded myself that consistency isn’t about feeling motivated—it’s about showing up, even when you don’t feel like it.Joy in the Journey
At first, I thought of it as a task to check off. But over time, I found myself genuinely enjoying the process. Consistency taught me to focus on the now, not the end goal.Self-Trust Through Action
Each day I completed a lesson, I reinforced a deeper belief: I can stick with this. That trust I built in myself is now spilling over into other areas of my life.
What about you? Is there an area in your life where you’ve been wanting to build your consistency muscle? Maybe it’s:
Journaling each morning
Moving your body daily
Spending quality time with loved ones
I’d love to know:
What’s one small habit you’ve committed to consistently?
How has it made a difference in your life?
Hit reply and share—I’d love to hear your story! And to celebrate you.
If you’re ready to strengthen your consistency muscle, here’s my challenge to you:
Pick one small habit that feels meaningful to you.
Commit to it for the next seven days.
Let go of perfection and just focus on showing up.
Remember: consistency isn’t about doing it all. It’s about doing one thing, one day at a time, and trusting that it adds up.
I’m in your corner, cheering you on every step of the way. 💛
