Polako..! And other Croatian gems to learn about life

0-2.jpeg

Greetings!

How are things going in your life? What’s percolating inside of you, waiting to be expressed, experienced, enjoyed….? I would love to hear from you! I’m still on the other side of the world and I’m starting to get a little home sick. I’ve extended my trip another month…and I’d love to feel connected to my American community again.

So…please drop me a note, no matter how we know each other. It’ll close the gap for me, and maybe help you get some things of your chest as well :)

This week I’m in Croatia with dad & sis. It’s the country where my soul comes alive. Maybe it’s the Adriatic ocean on one side or the Mosor mountain range on the other that stirs something deep inside of me.

Could be the hospitality and the “polako mentality” that’s found in Dalmatia, reminding me to slow down, to enjoy and the importance of community and friendship. Polako means slow down, take it easy, be careful. It can be a command, a suggestion, a recommendation or an invitation. It’s such a versatile word and I love it!

Community and friendship is everything here. When we arrived, dad’s neighbors welcomed us with food, cheer and care. This may not be a wealthy country, but boy, is it rich! People will create something out of nothing here and gladly share their meal, something from their garden or a cup of coffee with a perfect stranger, expecting nothing in return.

Interconnectedness is important and Croatians are generally very loyal people and show long-term commitment to members of their family, extended family or extended relations. You’ll meet few strangers and will make many friends!

I’m seriously considering creating a soul retreat for my American community! I would love to bring you on a guided tour mixed with Awareness Coaching & Training paired with mindfulness practices. How does September 2022 sound ; )

Until next time…Polako! And Cheers to Powerful, Positive Change.
