End of Year Ritual & Reflection
My wish for you as this year comes to its end, you & your loved ones are safe, happy and well.
As 2022 comes to a close, I enjoy stepping into deep ritual, self reflections and connecting with my loved ones. As some of you may know, my sacred ritual to close out the year and welcome the new is to walk a labyrinth.
Question for you: What rituals or traditions do you practice during this time of year?
Today, as i write this, is winter solstice-the shortest day of the year. It symbolizes life, death, and human connection with nature's most powerful force. I like to light a candle or a fire that symbolizes the sun, the light, to guide me through darker times. The candle also represents letting go; burning what no longer serves me. Do you celebrate winter solstice, and if so, how?
Every season offers its special wisdom, wouldn’t you agree? Winter seems to invite us to slow down, to rest, to go within…It’s a time of letting go, to listen to & nurture our bodies and perhaps visit the darker spaces within ourselves. I read some journaling prompts that I liked and I’m sharing with you for your consideration. (Although I’m paraphrasing, can’t find the source.)
In your journal, or quiet contemplation, consider investigating and evaluating the following by connecting with and listening to your heart, which knows your deepest desires. Light a candle if you feel inclined!
What warms my heart? What do I value/ appreciate most?
What are my highest priorities?
How am I honoring, caring for and nurturing myself emotionally, spiritually, physically & mentally?
In my deepest silence, what messages does my heart have for me?
Allow the answers to surface without pushing. And remember, rest and restoration supports healing and renewal; this is why sleep, mediation, prayers etc are so important, because inner wisdom is found in the silence & stillness.
To Powerful, Positive Change…Cheers!
